The Global Ethics Forum (GEF) brings together leaders across business, government, technology, academia, and civil society to address today’s most pressing governance challenges. For the first time, GEF 2026 will be hosted in Bali, Indonesia.

Why Bali, why now? As one of the world’s largest emerging economies and a rapidly growing digital society, Indonesia reflects many of today’s governance challenges. At the same time, it offers a compelling perspective on human flourishing.

Findings from the Global Flourishing Study by Harvard University and Baylor University highlight Indonesia’s strong performance in social connection, community engagement, and meaning in life—underscoring how wellbeing is shaped not only by economic conditions, but also by cultural, social, and spiritual factors.
