Library: Expanding access and enhancing discoverability
The Globethics Library has undergone a significant consolidation process to streamline its full-text digital assets. The repository now holds approximately 85,000 full-text resources, including Globethics Publications, theses, research papers, conference proceedings, journal articles, textbooks, and other teaching materials from its global network.
To enhance visibility and accessibility, selected Globethics Publications are now indexed in the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB). Additionally, they are available through major open-access discovery platforms such as CORE , Dimensions , and WorldCat. These integrations are made possible through systematic DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assignment and OAI-PMH data synchronisation, ensuring broader dissemination and discoverability.
Following a major data cleanup, the repository now offers faster browsing and improved accessibility. In the coming months, the Globethics Library will be migrated to the latest Open Repository/DSpace system by Atmire. Additionally, efforts will be made to simplify its collection structure by merging smaller theological and institutional collections into the core ethics collection.
